ACE Good News Story – STRIVE: The Lennox Partnership
Matt*, a 18-year-old client started the Work Programme believing there was only one sector he could/wanted to work in and that was construction. However, through the support of his advisor, Matt began to understand and accept the help and opportunities available and was asked to attend a two week STRIVE (Support and Training Result in Valuable Employees) course through The Lennox Partnership.
Unsure whether to attend, Matt’s advisor sold the benefits of STRIVE to Matt effectively, explaining the impact on soft skills such as confidence and etiquette as well as the opportunity to feel involved in a real-time working environment. Matt successfully completed the course and his advisor noticed a remarkable difference in his positivity and job goals; now placing a focus on retail and customer service as well as construction.
The focus was then placed on carrying on the great work Matt started through STRIVE and his advisor booked him onto a Candidate Pool Assessment Centre (which he passed with relative ease). Matt has now been offered a job with a well-known fast-food retailer, starting at the beginning of June. He credits his amazing turnaround to the time and attention placed on him through the STRIVE practitioners and his advisors at Ingeus. Both parties have shown the importance of the aftercare process with ACE provision as well as how a cohesive working relationship can change many lives for the better.
