STRIVE in Renfrewshire

Originating in New York, TLP is the only organisation in Scotland to deliver STRIVE, an innovative “essential skills” workshop. Having worked in local authority areas throughout Scotland, STRIVE has been recently brought over to support unemployed people in Renfrewshire and give them the skills and attitude to move into sustainable employment.

Using a simulated work environment, the workshops focus on:

• Building up softer skills
• Workplace behaviours and attitudes
• Providing employability skills including creating CVs, completing job applications and working on interview skills.

Activities are conducted through individual and team-based assignments, in-class exercises and group work. Participants on the workshops will increase their confidence and self-esteem as well as their motivation. No other service delivered in Scotland tackles these areas in the direct manner of STRIVE.
