Ministerial Visit (Oct 2012)

29/10/2021

MINISTERIAL VISIT TO THELENNOXPARTNERSHIP – WED 17TH OCT 2012

Angela Constance Minister for Youth Employment and Gil Patterson Scottish National Party MSP for Clydebank & Milngavie visited The Lennox Partnership on Wednesday 17th October 2012 to see first hand how the innovative STRIVE for Young People project will work in West Dunbartonshire.

The Lennox Partnership, a Social Enterprise, based in Clydebank, is one of only 24 organisations who recently benefitted from the Scottish Governments 3rd Sector Challenge Fund grant awards and will utilise the money to provide support to youths age 16-24 year old from West Dunbartonshire to make the transition into employment. This will be delivered through STRIVE for Young People, a short sharp employability workshop that will focus on soft skills and employer expectations in the workplace. Local employers will be encouraged to visit the Workshops and speak to the youngsters about working for their organisation. Participants will also get industry recognised qualifications in which will enhance their employment prospects.

Young unemployed people, 16 – 24 yrs, living in West Dunbartonshire and having trouble getting the job they want, can call STRIVE for help. The 2 week “essential skills” workshop will help with the confidence and ability to get into employment.

To take advantage of this opportunity, and book a place on the next workshop or for more information contact any member of the STRIVE team at The Lennox Partnership on 0141 951 6450
