Adult Recruitment and Training Credit (ARTC)

ARTC was delivered for 10 years in East and West Dunbartonshire and 7 throughout Ayrshire. It was initially funded by Scottish Enterprise and later Skills Development Scotland. The aim was to support small businesses to train new recruits to become proficient in their new role as quickly as possible after starting work. In return for funding and / or delivering this skills development training employers were paid a contribution up to a maximum of 50% of wages for the first 8 weeks of employment. Over 150 new starts employees a year were supported via this initiative.
